Get ready to celebrate seeds and kickstart your growing season at Seedy Saturday, hosted by Yorklands Green Hub and the Guelph Tool Library. This community-focused event will take place on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Quebec St. Shoppes, located at 35 Wyndham St. N, Guelph.

Seedy Saturday is the perfect opportunity for gardeners of all experience levels to come together. Whether you’re an expert or just starting out, this event offers a variety of activities including seed swapping, learning about seed diversity, and connecting with local gardeners and sustainability groups.

“We are thrilled to bring Seedy Saturday to downtown Guelph,” said Lynn Bestari, Chair of Yorklands Green Hub. “This event fosters a deep connection between our community and the land, encouraging biodiversity and empowering people to grow their own food.”

Attendees can bring their own seeds to swap with others, explore a selection of seeds from local vendors, and learn from expert growers about food resilience and the importance of seed diversity.

Exciting Workshops to Attend

In addition to the seed swaps and vendor booths, there will be four educational workshops throughout the day. Here’s the schedule:

  • 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Best Practices for a Home Orchard
