The event, organized by eMERGE, the Guelph Climate Action Network, and the Social Justice Coalition, encouraged patrons to commit to personal eco-friendly actions for the upcoming year. Karen Houle, a retired professor from the University of Guelph, who led the proceedings, emphasized Earth Day’s significance as both a celebration and a sobering reminder of environmental challenges.
