Juno Award-Winning Artist Talks About His First Headline Tour, New Music, and Personal Journey
Fans of alternative, indie, and folk music are in for a treat next month as Aysanabee, the Juno Award-winning Oji-Cree artist behind Canadian radio hits like “We Were Here” and “Somebody Else”, embarks on his first-ever headline tour—Now and Then.
Aysanabee (pronounced Ace-in-abbey), originally from Sandy Lake First Nation, will take the stage at Sonic Hall in Guelph on Wednesday, March 19, as part of his cross-Canada winter tour.
“I’m excited to get back on the road, but it’s also my first headline tour,” he shared.
A New Chapter in His Career
Though he’s been performing for years—gracing festival stages and intimate venues worldwide—Aysanabee emphasized that this tour feels different.
“It sounds strange to say this is my first tour because I’ve been playing shows for a long time,” he said. “But this time, I have full creative control.”
While he’s no stranger to the Guelph area, having played solo acoustic sets at events like Hillside Festival, this show will mark the first time he’s bringing a full band to a Guelph venue.
With Now and Then, Aysanabee is stepping into a new era of his artistry—on his own terms, with his own sound, and with a tour that promises to be a must-see experience.
